There is a new residential colony coming up in Dhakoli village at Zirakpur. Spread over 3.5-acres, Spangle Heights as the new colony is called will boast 186-flats, of which, 144 will be 3-bedroomed, and the rest two-bed-roomed. Tempted to buy a flat in Dhakoli, be prepared to pay anywhere between Rs. 34.9-lakhs to Rs. 18.75-lakhs. S.K. Bagolia, Director of UB Construction responsible for constructing Spangle Heights says: 'Our first project is sold out. Several factors go into providing real estate solutions that protect customer investment. These are location, design, quality, cost effectiveness, timely execution, transparency and customer service. Our upcoming projects feature unique environment friendly construction material.'

Further, C.M. Kumar of Spangle Heights informs, the flats are made of fly ash bricks, have attached bathrooms and balconies, and provisions have been made for sufficient power backup. Going on to elaborate on security arrangements, he says it will be very tight with CCTVs present, even inside the flats. Dismissing apprehensions about the colony being constructed near an open nullah, Kumar says it will be covered on completion of the colony next year.

Adding that flats at Spangle Heights were being booked at a rapid pace, he mused: 'I think people find real estate the best form of investment these days. That is why residential colonies are doing so well. Earlier people invested in banks and got good interest rates. But, these days interest rates are very low compared to the dividends in property which are high.' As a number of private colonisers build in Dhakoli, on Patiala Road and Delhi Highway, Zirakpur finds itself being flooded with new colonies, no longer recognising itself from the sleepy little village of yester years. A village whose only contact with the city was the building of farm houses by the city dwelling land owners on their Zirakpur farm holdings.

Truly, Zirakpur finds itself in sparkling form as Indian real estate developers colonise, seeking to add Dhakoli and other parts of the area to their already bursting at the seams real estate portfolios.
